Kenai 250 race report

The weekend of 24th, 25th and 26th June Oscar decided it would be a great idea to ride the Kenai 250, this is a race through most of the singletrack on the Kenai Peninsula, from the Kenai 250 website
"The Kenai 250 is a challenging route, for experienced backcountry endurance riders, with over 200 miles of singletrack that traverses some of the most beautiful landscape the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska has to offer.  The ride includes the historic Resurrection Pass , Russian Lakes Trail, Lost Lake Trail, Johnson Pass and so much more!

This will be a 100% self-supported event.  Riders will be required to carry all gear required  to complete the loop.  The route goes past several small populated areas where re-supply is possible.  No outside help, company, ghost riders, pre-arrangements, reservations, calls to restaurants to pre-order food or wait for rider, etc.  Cellphones allowed for safety and selfies only."

Results can be found here but really you should read about Oscar's experience here on his blog.

Saturday 25th of June was little a Triathlon in Palmer. This triathlon is both a fundraiser for a family with a child currently receiving treatment and a memorial event.

Kulis Crit Series I race #7 - 16th June 2016

Race 7 was looking perfect with regards to the weather, unfortunately for Tom he decided to test gravity and the laws of physics  at the same time which we are happy to confirm are still working.

Alas for Tom this meant he ended up with some road rash and bruises to deal with, he has seemed to have a run of bad luck in racing so far this early season, we hope he turns this around for the late season.

Well done to Kelsey for checking on Tom and pushing him to finish, points mean prizes and Tom is currently sitting in joint 1st place for the series, you do realise if you win you get the mandatory upgrade right Tom? :D

Kincaid XC round #2 - rooty and steep ski hill climbs

12 team members made it out to race in glorious sunshine with another couple out for support.

The course for race two although shorter than we are perhaps used to was a lot of fun.  It was fast with plenty of steep ski trail climbs, some fantastic singletrack and a few rooty social trails thrown in for good measure.

Before I dive into the results I want to put a special mention out to two team members (Danielle and Travis) along with the other four or five racers who aided a fallen racer on the trail, we all wish Sheryl a speedy recovery. It was good to see so many racers willing to aid a fellow racer.
